Title: XML Tools for Wireless Configuration Data Migration Speaker: Avinash Vyas (UCSD) Joint work with Michael Benedikt (Bell-Labs), Mary Fernandez (ATT-Labs), Jerome Simeon (IBM) and Glenn Burns (Bell-Labs) Abstract: Many components in the wireless networks use configuration data stores to guide most of their functionality. As a part of the Software Update process for these network components, the schema as well as the data needs to be updated. This process of updating the schema and data is termed as "Data Migration". This talk is about two XML tools, XTrek and Mojito that are used in the Data Migration process for some of the wireless network components within Lucent. XTrek provides a language to specify updates on XML based configuration data and an engine to evaluate the updates. Mojito is a tool that checks integrity constraints over the evolved/updated data. Both of these tools are based on the Galax XQuery engine. I will describe the tools and give our experiences in using them within data migration.
