Grading Rules for Midterm 2

Problem #1
Total 12 points. Each question receives 4pts and it is all or nothing.
 

Problem #2
Total 26 points: 

1. questions on Page 4 are 3pts each (3x2).

2. questions on Page 5 are 5pts each (5x4).

Problem #3
Total 12 points:

1. correct counting of the event set gets 8pts.

2. correct counting of the universal set gets 4 pts.

Problem #4

Total 30 points: 
1. correct computation of fx gets 2pts.
2. correct computation of E(X) gets 4pts.
3. correct computation of Var(X) gets 4pts.
4. correct computation of fy gets 2pts.
5. correct computation of E(Y) gets 4pts.
6. correct computation of E(XY) gets 10pts.
7. correct computation of Cov(X,Y)gets 4pts.
